MFBTY – Sweet Dreams

If I’ve been shoving bubblegum pop down your throat (I haven’t but the for the sake of argument lets say I have) and you’re sick and tired of it, I apologize. To make up for it, I now plan on shoving electro-beat-hip-hop down your throat in the lucid form of MFBTY.

MFBTY

Comprised of the husband-wife due Yoon Mi Rae (English name: Tasha Reid) and Tiger JK join up with Jungle Entertainment labelmate Bizzy to form the fan-named hip hop trio MFBTY.

Now, if you’ve never heard of Tiger JK or Yoon Mi Rae, they are often hailed as the Korean Hip Hop Beyonce and Jay-Z. Yoon Mi Rae’s mixed African American and Korean heritage, her flawless English (she’s American after all) and her hip hop entrenched lineage (her father was a hip hop DJ, mixed with Tiger JK’s LEGENDARY Underground Hip Hop status in Korea, then you can tell that anything they have or will produce is going to something you should at least listen to.

I don’t know too much about Bizzy,What I do know is, he has opened up for Drunken Tiger on numerous occassions, has collabborated with artist such as MIB and Jay Park, and his YouTube videos aren’t lacking in hits, if you know what I mean. But as a signee under Jungle Entertainment, it’s not hard to tell what quality of music he makes too. If anything, his appearance alongside Yoon Mi Rae and Tiger JK speaks for itself.

Now a collective under the name “My Fans Better Than Yours”, they’ve released their first single, “Sweet Dreams”. Awesome special effects, great cinematography, and a subliminal plot, MFBTY has managed to make a hip hop video that appeals to both the ears and the eyes.

And I know that 2013 just started, but I don’t see too many videos or songs that are going to surpass this. And maybe I’m speaking out of turn, but if we compare it to the videos of 2013, it’s STILL the HEAVYWEIGHT champ, something you favorite (and mine, I’ll be honest) won’t be able to do. So, check out their video “Sweet Dreams.”

[Review] Rurouni Kenshin: The Movie

Kenshinheader

I’ve always been an AVID activist of letting the origin of a work be recreated by that same origin. A book is based in New York filled with Americans; let the Americans handle the film adaptation. If a mini-series about a first woman ruler of Silla was created by the Koreans, let them handle the film adaptation. If Bollywood wants to make a movie version of Saathiya Saath Nibhana, let the Indians make that damn movie. My case is proved infinitively by the Rurouni Kenshin live action film adaptation.

Rurouni Kenshin is a 2012 Japanese film adaptation of Rurouni Kenshin based on Nobuhiro Watsuki‘s popular manga of the same name. Directed by Keishi Ōtomo, the film stars Takeru Sato and Emi Takei.(via Wikipedia). It was released in August of 2012 and I, by the grace of God, was able to find a subbed version of it on January 24th, 2013.

Bidam-ah Will Kick Your Ass

As a lover of foreign film and dramas, I’ve previously been keeping you abreast of what I watch, but this time I don’t want to focus on the show itself (The Great Queen Seon Deok), but a character. If I focused on the show this would turn into a dissertation.

Allow me to introduce Bidam Rang.

Oh, the blood? He just killed about...30 people over some chicken.

Writer Short Story Request: Midget Ninjas With Gold Fingernails

.Chandler didn’t understand, and at this point, as he put the key in the lock, he was pretty sure he didn’t want to. He shifted his bag of groceries out of one arm and into the other as he nudged open his apartment door. The place was quiet, unassuming at best, but that didn’t mean that Chandler didn’t know any better. Muttering under his breath about the invalidity of squatter’s rights, he mentally ticked off the numbers, dropping to a knee when he hit ‘one.’

True to his suspicions, there was a whoosh of air that came a little too close for comfort. It was followed by a thud into the wood of his front door, then a curse –a tiny curse of ‘kono yarou’ (which Chandler had learned after hearing it enough that it meant ‘You bastard’) – letting him know it was okay to stand.
