Want to talk about passion and just being content with yourself? Meet Hy Snell. At 94 years of age and just about 5% of his eyesight remaining, he still continues to paint. He finds a positive in every negative. That’s something many of us fail to do. It’s short, but a great look into what it’s like to be someone always keeping their chin up.
If you take the subway, there’s no way to avoid it. 75% of the time, you don’t want to. There’s some real talent among those who do it. This doc follows around 5 of them, all in familiar spots here in the city. Listen to them tell their stories as to why they do what they do. Real interesting stuff!
Not everyone on Instagram wants to just take pictures of their food and use selfie sticks. Some IGers take what they do very seriously, exploring various parts of the city (illegally.) that many of us may never see on our own. Discovery Network’s Seeker Stories spotlights a few photographers who are apart of this slow building craze.
I can’t tell you how long I’ve been searching for this! I saw it awhile back in smaller clips and finally got a hold of the full thing. This is a look into parts of NYC most of us don’t even know exists. From the abandoned subway stations to the underground paths of Amtrak where many people (still) live, to viewing the city high above the Williamsburg bridge. This is a treat. Definitely watch it. Steve Duncan is fucking insane.
